It was interesting seeing the woods in the afternoon light. Typically the sun is just rising above the trees but today the woods were fully illuminated by the afternoon sun. I returned to the stone chair I created last week and as I sat up against the tree I began to hear small whines and chirping noises. It was hard to pinpoint exactly where the sound was coming from so I watched and waited. After standing very still for almost 10 minutes a tiny little raccoon head popped out of the rocks and looked at me. Because I didn’t want to deal with an angry raccoon mother I decided to move away from the stone wall and watched the creek bed. I saw the same bird washing itself in the same spot as I did last week. I saw the forest sway in the wind and heard the birds singing. It was a beautiful day to watch the other beings of this forest use it as their home.
